Magnesium and Inflammation

26 February 2014
More and more data is coming out (seemingly each day) on the role inflammation has with a myriad of diseases. Inflammation is a problem, clearly. Whether we are talking about heart disease, arthritis, autism, or just about any other auto-immune driven issue, inflammation plays a large role.

A recent meta analysis was done by the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Public Health, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN, USA. They looked at the role of magnesium in inflammation by measuring CRP levels. What they found was that as magnesium levels rose, CRP levels fell. "This meta-analysis and systematic review indicates that dietary Mg intake is significantly and inversely associated with serum CRP levels." That can mean great news for those with high CRP levels. Daily supplementation with magnesium is easy to accomplish.

New Beginnings offers a variety of magnesium choices to suit your needs and tastes. Our Magnesium Citrate is a powdered form that mixes well in water or juice. Our Liquid Magnesium provides and ionic mineral which is readily and easily absorbed by the body so it is a great option for those with poor absorption or gut issues.
